Career: Active in the music from 2005 to the Present day. She started writing songs at the age of 18 and got her first record deal with '5 Point Records' in 2007, in which she released her first digital album 'Lana Del Rey' in January 2010. She then bought hersself out of the contract in the April after releasing the album and signed a joint contract with 'Interscoppe','Polydor', and 'Stranger records' in the July of 2011.
Lana released her second studio album 'Born to Die' in January2012, in which it debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 and was also the 5th nest selling album of 2012. Her highest charting track was a remix of 'Summertime Sadness' where it got number 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Del Rey then released her 3rd extended play 'Paradise' in the November - 3 of its tracks were featured in Lana's short film 'Tropico'.
'Ultraviolence' was her 3rd studio album, released in June 2014, it debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. She announced in December 2014 that she will be headlining a tour with Courtney Love this summer.
She is the most streamed woman in the US on spotify - her music has been noticed for its cinematic sound and references to pop culture such as 1950s and 60s Americana.
Lana Del Rey has said that her musical influences are Elvis, Amy Whinehouse, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, Nirvana, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen and Briteny Spears; she also gets much of her inspiration from Film Noir and poetry.
