We decided to Pitch our idea to one of our teachers so that we could not only make it clear what our idea is exactly but, we could also get some feedback on things that he liked and get some constructive criticism on how to improve.
Firstly, Mr Higgins said that it is very clear that we have an understanding of how the music industry works and how artists are put together. He also said that we have successfully incorporated this knowledge into our pitch, making an impressive first impression.
Sir also said that we have lots of creative and interesting ideas and that he is excited to see how we pull it off once it's put together - he was also very impressed that we have a clear vision; he can see that we are determined to create an artistic video and portray Nova how we see her.
For some constructive criticism, he said that when talking about different shots and mise en scene, we should be more specific; this is to make sure that we manage to link all parts of our package together, it will also help with showing people that we are creating a brand. This also goes for locations and styling of our artist too, we need to make sure that everything links together as well as it can to show that we have created a successful brand. As a pitch is a marketing exercise, we need to really be on the ball with our ideas; we want this to feel as real as possible therefore, we highlighted that we have made some blog posts to help with this such as Location Research and The Process of Creating A Character.
As an end note to our meeting with Mr Higgins he said that we should be aiming to get an A therefore, we need to make sure that our editing is suitable for our song, we need to have excellent lip synching, our overall package needs to have obvious continuity and we need to make sure that we have a variety of shots.
So far very detailed blogs. You have exploited ICT quite well too. Make sure you follow up choices within 2/3 weeks and evaluate whether they were good choices or you have had a rethink.
